MHAM – 2010 Photo Contest

I entered a few photos in a contest held by Margaret Harwell Art Museum in Poplar Bluff, MO. Every year at least one of my photos is some form of self portraiture , this year I entered two. Photo manipulation in Photoshop is not my strongest talent, but I’m always pleased with the surrealistic finished product. The other photos that I entered were: Painter Bill & We are Relentless. ”Painter Bill” is a composite of 3 images of a local sign painter. ”We are Relentless” is a team portrait for Relentless Media Productions, a creative media group that I work with.

Michael Franti & Spearhead in Memphis

This past weekend Jen and I went to see Michael Franti and Spearhead play a show in Memphis. The show was amazing! I have seen M. Franti and Spearhead twice in New Orleans, once in New York, and now this show in Memphis. In my humble opinion, they keep getting better, the show in Memphis was the best Franti show I’ve seen. He played at Bonnaroo the night before, and I was worried that he may be worn out. Worn out he was not, if anything he brought with him some of the energy from Bonnaroo.

As with every Franti show, once he is done playing he gets off stage and greets his fans with hugs. Having hugged Michael after every show I’ve seen, this time I settled for a high-five. This being Jen’s first time seeing Franti live, it was mandatory that she hug the man that just gave us a 3hr show. Unfortunately, I was unable to get a photo of Jen’s hug. But, I was able to snap a few photos during the show that I was very proud of. The photos came out great considering I did not have a press pass and was forced to take them from the crowd.

Below are a few of those photos. At the bottom of the post is a link to more.

Enjoy ~ Tim
