Union Pacific Great Excursion Adventure stops in Poplar Bluff, MO

Today Union Pacific’s steam locomotive No. 844 made a stop in Poplar Bluff, MO on its way to Kansas City. Hundreds of people come out to see the throwback steam locomotive. It was quite impressive, and as usually I look for any excuse to make some photographs :)

Lost Creek Nature Trail : Wappapello Lake

I was invited to tag along with my brother and his best friend, yesterday. David and Tank have been exploring different trails around Lake Wappapello for the past few weeks. Lost Creek Nature Trail is one that Tank really enjoys. However, when we showed up, there was a controlled burn taking place, and Tank was a little spooked. He made it through just fine.

Hope you enjoy the photos ~ Tim

Tank about to fly away!

While my younger brother is on his NASA vacation in Florida: my mother, stepfather & myself take turns giving Tank the attention he needs. I snapped this photos during one of our walks. Tank is taking a little time letting the wind blow through his floppy ears.

Who’s My Daddy?

This past weekend, my father came to visit me. Living 13hrs apart and only getting to visit 2-3 times a year, every visit is seems to be borderline epic. Usually when he comes to visit we end up golfing and grilling, this time the weather was crap. During his visits I often snap some photos here and there, but wanted to do something a little different this visit. My goal, this visit, was to make a legit portrait that captured the character of my father, Wayne. I accomplished what I set out to do. Although these images are no replacement for meeting him, they capture him better than any photo of him I’ve taken and/or seen. Despite his numerous threats during my childhood to “show me my adoption papers”, I’m fairly certain he’s my father.

Hope you enjoy ~ Tim

Nikon D700 Bow Tie

The Print and Pixel (link) had a contest to design a bow tie and post it on their Facebook wall. Although I do not do much design, I enjoy it from time to time. My current camera of choice is a Nikon D700, it provided me with inspiration and acted as my muse. Also, the prize was 500 business cards, I can use some new cards. Check out my entry below.

Thanks ~ Tim

I had the pleasure of shooting a good friend of mine, Matt Luecke. Matt helps operate Luecke Distributing, here in Poplar Bluff, MO. He was recently featured in February Issue of “573″, a local magazine, “40 Business Leaders Under 40″.

Another Snow Day – Awesome!

February Snow – 360

Found an excuse to attempt a 360 degree panoramic image. Turned out well, just need another subject, I hate being in front of the camera.

Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce – Annual Banquet.

The past 5 years Matt Luecke, of Luecke Distribution, has been in charge of printing a large backdrop for the Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet. This year Matt asked if I was interested in assisting him, suggested to the Chamber of Commerce that he and I collaborate on the project. This style of project, combining multiple image into one, is something that I’ve enjoyed doing for a while. So, I accepted the offer. As a photographer, having the opportunity of seeing an image of mine printed 14′x8′ and being the center backdrop for the event was beyond temping.
